Nawaz Sharif Arrives in Islamabad to face NAB

Nawaz SharifNawaz Sharif has arrived in Islamabad to face the courts. He is indicted in corruption cases and will appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on November 3. Nawaz Sharif is attending his wife London, who is going through chemotherapy.

He was received at Benazir Bhutto International Airport by Khawaja Saad Rafique, Mushahid ullah Khan, Pervez Rasheed, Asif Kirmani, Chaudary Tanvir, Raja Zafar ul Haq, Mohsin Ranjha, Ameer Muqaam and other party leaders.

Investigation Officer, Mehboob Alan was present at the airport to ensure implementation of NAB orders and procedures. Airport Security Forces (ASF) accompanied Nawaz Sharif to the Rawal Lounge.

Mr. Sharif went through the official requirements and then went to Punjab House to discuss the political environment.

Nawaz Sharif addressed the media in London and reiterated that he was not impressed by the Supreme Court decision and he should not have been disqualified. However, he abides by the decision to upheld rule of law. He added that he is not running away from courts.

Furthermore, he said that, “We have faced sham trials before but we never ran away and faced accountability time and again.” Moreover, he said that, “Why should I leave the country every 10 years? What have I done?”

He further stated that he is shocked that this drama is still going on. He said the case was started with Panama Papers and his name was not even there in the Panama Case. The case just used Iqama to disqualify me.
