Serena Hotel’s park : A Step Towards Environmental Friendly Practices

Serena Hotel's parkA new Serena Hotel’s park having area of 8 acre has been inaugurated. It is a joint project initiated by Sheikh Ansar Aziz, Mayor of Islamabad & Aziz Boolani, CEO Serena Hotels. Many important personalities and dignitaries were invited to the opening ceremony.

The idea behind this new Serena Hotel’s park is to support environmental friendly practices and fight against the challenges presented due to the climate change. The ongoing environmental degradation is a cause of worry for everyone. Serene Hotels has also taken measures to counter carbon emissions by an effective environmental management system. The focus is campaigning for environmental friendly practices and also recycling.
Furthermore, the purpose of the Serena Hotel’s Park is to provide  people of Islamabad an open space where they can enjoy and relax. The Serena Hotel’s Park assures a refreshing experience for both joggers and families.
The park has a jogging track, central walking path, multistage fountain, benches, park lights, flowering bushes, floral arches and shady trees.
The Serena Hotel’s park was made a reality after extensive work as the process had to begin with land levelling and the plantation of new grass. Furthermore, unwanted plants and bushes were removed and  new trees, flower beds were planted with a nursery. A new irrigation system has been initiated to upkeep the park.
The CEO of Serena Hotels, Mr. Aziz Boolani, said that the project is very close to his heart as he is a big supporter for environmental friendly schemes. He emphasized that these efforts are not enough and more programs should be started to counter environment degradation. He added that through this project we want to send the message that  focus on sustainable development is very important for the benefit of the future generations.
Mayor of Islamabad, Sheikh Ansar Aziz commended the efforts and said that the Serena Hotel’s park is a big milestone which will add to the Islamabad Green Charter that adopts United Nations Urban Environmental Accords.
Serena Hotels contribute greatly to go green initiatives as they consider it a matter of great concern. The Serena Business Complex (SBC) has been certified as a Green Office by WWF-Pakistan. The Green Office has initiated several environmental friendly policies such as water conservation, energy conservation, enhanced waste management practices, and regular tree plantations. The Serena Hotel’s park is another accolade under the sleeves.
