 Manushi Chhillar from India Wins Miss World 2017

Miss world 2017 Miss world 2017 is won by Manushi Chhillar from India, she is a medical student. The magnificent event was held in Saniya, China. By bagging the Miss World 2017, India becomes the joint leader of beauty contest in terms of wins.

Venuzala and India have both won 6 titles each, the two most successful countries in the beauty pageant’s history.  It was the 67th event of Miss World.

Manushi Chhillar is the sixth Indian winner, succeeding likes Bollywood actresses Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai.

Chhillar is only 20 years old and is a trained Indian classical dancer. She also has great interest in painting. She yearns to open a chain of non-profit hospitals in rural areas.

She wrote on Twitter, “Thank you, everyone, for your constant love, support,” and “This one’s for India.”

Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico handed down the crown to the new beauty queen.  Stephanie Hill of England and Andrea Meza of Mexico finished as runners-up.

This is the 7th time the beauty pageant took place in Sanya, on southern China’s Hainan Island, where the event was last held in 2015.

At the previous occasion two years ago, controversy erupted as officials in Hong Kong stopped Miss Canada, Anastasia Lin, from boarding a plane bound for Sanya, telling her she would not receive a visa. This time the event went smooth and congratulations to Manushi Chhillar for winning the event.
