A report by Goldman Sachs suggests that the new 10th anniversary edition iPhone may cost a staggering $1,000 for the base model.

The iPhone 8 will have 128GB and 256GB models priced at $999 and $1,099 according to analyst Simona Jankowski and her team.

The base model of the upcoming flagship device will then cost $130 more than the most expensive iPhone currently available.

The company is also expected to release an updated version of the current models, i.e. the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, which would cost $649 and $769 respectively.

Rumours regarding the release date of the iPhone 8 have been contradictory so far; however, Jankowski believes the iPhone 8 is happening.

Apple usually explores multiple designs in parallel. However, with only four months left until launch, it is evitable to believe that Apple has now locked down the design.

The upcoming 10th anniversary edition of the iPhone is expected to pack completely new hardware and feature a revamped design, which will push the price up.

The upgrades include a 5.8-inch OLED screen with bezel-less curved display, similar to what we saw on the Galaxy S8. Besides, she said, we can also expect a faster A11 processor with a home button and fingerprint scanner integrated into the phone’s display.
