Zong Granted the Long Distance International (LDI) License

Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) recently granted an LDI license to China Mobile Pakistan-Zong with the signing of an agreement between the two entities at an event held to announce this latest development that was much awaited by the telecom giants.

Mr. Sikandar Naqi, Adviser to chief, Zong was delighted to this recent development as it now meant that Zong would no longer have to collaborate with local partners in order to provide its customers with cost effective and efficient international call and SMS services. He also stated that Zong continued its commitment to take the telecom sector of Pakistan to a level that had never been witnessed before.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Fan Yun Jun, chairman and CEO, Zong applauded the efforts made by his team to attain the LDI license, which was indeed a very hard job. He also thanked the officials of PTA and encouraged his team at Zong to gear up for the challenge that had been laid in front of them.

With the preference of 53% customers in 2012 in the entire industry, Zong has certainly attracted a large chunk of the telecom industry which has enabled it to become the  telecom operator of choice in Pakistan.
