Ufone Becomes First Local Brand to Cross 2 Million Fans on Facebook

Ufone yet again achieved another feat by becoming the first Pakistani brand to cross the 2 million fans mark on Facebook. This landmark could only have been achieved by the effective and innovative strategies brought forward by the Strategic Alliancez (SA) – an interactive digital media agency based out of Lahore, which is also the backbone of Ufone’s digital presence.

Strategic Alliancez enabled Ufone’s digital presence to escalate rapidly after its stagnant position in the market with only 507,000 fans until July 2012. Some of the out-of-box communication designs from SA include Ufone’s 14th August campaign, ‘Not founded on Facebook’. As a result of this the telecom giants enabled to attract 18,881 new fans with 11 posts, attaining 208,000+ interactions, against a staggering cumulative interaction of 13,000+ from four competitors on the same occasion.

Another factor that enabled Ufone to reach this landmark was the launch of their  Uth Pack which, after a short became the fastest growing telecom brand for youth on Facebook. The launch campaign delivered 18 million+ impressions, 164,000+ fans and 28,000+ talkabouts. Its rich media advertising campaign across direct publishers fetched an interaction rate of 41% (industry average being 8.4%).

It should also not be forgotten that Mobilink also crossed the 2 million mark but after Ufone, mainly because of their partnership with the on-going Pakistan Idol Show.
