Meeting of Pakistani Businessmen with high Powered Kuwaiti Business Delegation

The Prime Minister of State of Kuwait is visiting Pakistan from 10-11 November, 2013 on the invitation of the Prime Minister of Pakistan. On the sidelines of this visit, Board of Investment organized Pak Kuwait Business Forum on November 11, 2013. The forum was attended by prominent businessmen from both the countries. Pakistan side was led by Mr. Mohammad Zubair Chairman, Board of Investment while the Kuwaiti side was led by H.E. Bader Mohammad Al-Saad, Managing Director, Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA).

Businessmen from both sides discussed various ways and means to further enhance the level of cooperation between the two countries in various areas of mutual cooperation particularly in the areas of trade and investment. During the interactive session both sides discussed in detail various proposals to explore ways to enhance their mutual business relations especially in the fields of agriculture, energy, commerce & trade.

Chairman, BOI Mr. Mohammad Zubair while addressing on the occasion said that this session provided an opportunity to apprise the Kuwaiti businessmen existing and future trade and investment potential in the country. During the session various presentations were made by the senior officers from Board of Investment, Private Power Infrastructure Board, Petroleum & Natural Resources and Commerce & Textile Industry and highlighted the potential for trade and investment in their relevant areas.

His Excellency Bader Mohammad Al-Saad, Managing Director, Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) while addressing on the occasion reiterated the commitment of Government of State of Kuwait to enhance the share of their investment and trade in Pakistan. He shared with the participants that both Investment promotion Agencies Board of Investment and  Kuwait Investment Agency are going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today in the field of investment cooperation and the main objective of this MOU is strengthening of joint investment cooperation between the two countries and to create partnerships to promote investment and trade.

Mr. Imran Afzal Cheema, Secretary, BOI in his concluding remarks emphasized Kuwait businessmen and investors to explore Pakistan’s enormous economic potential and discover opportunities in various areas particularly in the agriculture and energy sector which is backed by investor friendly policies.
