First Orange Line Metro trainThe first Orange Line Metro train for Lahore has rolled out of production line in central China’s Hunan province. This is the first of the 27 Orange Line Metro trains.

CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co Ltd produced the five coaches train for the 25.58 km Orange Line Metro. Considering Pakistan’s high summer temperature, an energy saving air-conditioning system has also been designed and installed in the train.

According to an engineer of the company the design of the train has been combined with the national flower of Pakistan and the shape of the dome of the Badshahi Mosque while heat-resistant bogies increase durability.

The train has been designed to operate at a maximum speed of 40 km per hour. The delivery of the first orange line metro train is expected in the month of July this year. The remaining 26 trains will be handed over to the authorities by the end of this year.
