Pakistan News: The World Bank and the Government of Denmark inked an agreement to contribute USD 5 million for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Balochistan through the Multi Donor Trust Fund (MDTF).

The MDTF, which consists of 11 donor countries, was established for the development of  KPK, FATA and Balochistan following the militancy crises that displaced 2 million people from the above mentioned areas. Through eleven projects, the MDTF supports local services, growth and job creation and works on policy reform and governance. The handout from the Danish Govt. will help escalate MDTF’s results practically on ground. Previous benefactions from MDTF include the rehabilitation of the Swat provincial highway, institutional support to KP Judicial Academy e.t.c. The Danish Ambassador, commenting on this contribution, highlighted the efforts of MDFT to bring stability and prosperity to areas which were affected by militancy crises.
