Cyber Secure Pakistan 2014 Multi-Stakeholder Collaborations

There has been a rapid increase in cyber threats and crimes, which has invaded the privacy of internet users worldwide through more targeted and sophisticated with criminal networks operating across the world, coordinating complex attacks against targets in a matter of minutes.

This global problem has also been doing fair bit of damage to many companies in Pakistan as well. In order to counter this constant threat, Pakistan Information Security Association (PISA) has been working in collaboration with multi-stakeholders, including government organizations, academia, law enforcement agencies and Internet security specialists from the private and public sector, to leverage their respective expertise and resources for fighting cybercrimes. For this purpose a CSP conference platform was launched and in the CSP that took place in 2013, more than 200 delegates nationwide attended it to make this initiative successful.

This year, CSP’14 is themed as “Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration” for Combating Cyber Crimes is planned from 9th to 12th January at Marriott Hotel, Islamabad. Notable personalities such as Ms. Anusha Rehman (Minister of IT), Mr. Zahid Hamid (Minister of Science and Technology), Mr. Mushahid Hussain Sayed (Chairman Senate Committee for Defence and Defence Production), Mr. Ammar Jaffri (President PISA), Mr. Saud Ahmed Mirza (DG FIA) and Dr. Ismail Shah (Chairman PTA) are expected to grace the event with their presence.

The CSP’14 will have 10-featured workshops which will be the highlight of the whole event. These featured workshops include:

-ISACA Islamabad Chapter Meet-up

-Bloggers Discussion Session on Blog Security Issues

-Security for Women in the Digital Age [For Women Only] by Digital Rights Foundation

-Workshop on Reverse Engineering Malware

-Workshop by (ISC)2 Pakistan Islamabad Chapter

-Hands-on Trainings on Advanced Web-Application Security and Digital Mobile Forensics are also the part of this event
