U.S. Exchange Program Alumni Discuss Combating Gender-Based Violence

The Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN), which is one of the largest U.S. exchange alumni networks in the world and National University of Science and Technology (NUST) jointly, hosted an event to illuminate Gender-Based Violence. A leading TV anchor from a local news channel, PTV World; Sidra Iqbal discussed with alumni of U.S. government sponsored exchange programs, the possible strategies through which violence against women could be prevented. Minister Counselor for Public Affairs Peter Brennan encouraged all institutions of Pakistan to jointly raise awareness of gender-based violence as a human rights issue.
