5G in Pakistan seems to be possible now

The Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms, Ahsan Iqbal has said that the government shall soon be launching 5G in Pakistan as this faster connectivity can surely be implemented in the country now that Pakistan is progressing in terms of the telecom industry.

He also added that people who are already using 3G and 4G shall soon be experiencing 5G in the near future as he spoke at the Pakistan StartUP Cup competition for young entrepreneurs. This was organized by the U.S Embassy and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) while he also mentioned that Pakistan and US have been working on the ‘knowlegde corridor’ which has 10,000 PhDs from Pakistan that shall be trained in different US universities. The competition had more than 950 teams in Lahore, Karachi as well as Faisalabad and Islamabad that competed for a prize of Rs 1 million.

Furthermore, he commented that the country has big hopes from the youth since they hold the potential for contributing towards the prosperity and development of the country. He also granted Rs 250 million to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) over the last four years for its promotion while the winning team Cowlar from Islamabad developed a start-up plan for selling smart collars for cows that are designed to help farmers improve the herd health, boost their milk quantities, and optimize daily operations as well.
